November Book Club Chat: Discovering your Soul Signature
Welcome to November's Book Club Chat: Discovering your Soul Signature by Panache Desai. Well, what did you think? I must admit, although I loved the idea of reading small snippets three times per day it became a bit daunting after a while. Yet each day offered so much to ponder it made the book well worth the effort. Panache covers some pretty intense topics and doesn't give much pause to the heaviness. I like this. We need to talk about these very things because they are common experiences but not often discussed. Things like shame, self-judgment, the Ego, and being human. Here are a few discussion questions. Please chime in by leaving me a comment below. *Please note comments are public, if you wish to send me a private message click Contact above.
1. Which day resonated most for you?
Day one - Fear resonates with me most. It's the root of all things holding me back. This is true for a lot of people and I know I'm not alone in this. Fear is sneaky because it creeps into your mind like a weed. When you need courage the most fear has a way of holding you back just enough to not make a go at your life. He even talks about your fear weeds. Mine are - worthiness, scarcity, fulfillment, intelligence, and deserving. But fear is nothing more than a story we attach significant meaning to. When you prove the story wrong you take power away from how it makes you feel.
2. How did you come away from reading this book?
Overall I loved this book. Most books I devour in a couple days. Having to intentionally take my time was tough but what a wonderful lesson Panache built in don't you think? We are so hungry for instant gratification even when it comes to happiness and joy we miss the meaning in taking our time. I will gladly re-read this and take the same 33 days to do so again.
3. Is there a topic you feel is missing?
We will all answer this differently. I believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I wanted him to speak to this. I wanted a day on consciousness and how it is the root of pure potential. Consciousness creates energy and energy creates action. Pure consciousness as a human is just a thought but where does the thought come from? You can't pinpoint it or recall where thoughts originate from. This is fascinating to me and I think holds the key to end much human suffering.
I also wish he had written about love first and last. Although fear keeps us stuck, love sets us free. More on this another day.
