I'm expecting BIG things from you in 2014
Now look in the mirror and repeat this title to yourself...go on...I'll wait. How did that feel? A bit odd? Well, telling the truth to yourself is a bit odd because it something we rarely do! Many of you set New Year's resolutions yesterday and I truly wish for you to make them come to life in 2014. But for most of you (including me!) your resolutions will fizzle out around February.
Let's look at the word resolution for a moment. It actually means to resolve or solve a problem. We start the year solving what we believe to be broken! Not very inspirational if you ask me. Now I am not totally on the anti-resolution bandwagon because it's trendy or something. I love a resolution when they're needed and I LOVE me some goal setting just about anytime of the year. But it's very cold out, and dark, and rainy, and most of our 'resolutions' have to do with ADDING more to our plates when all our bodies are wired to do is reserve energy this time of year.
I am almost fell for the need to set some New Year's goals yesterday - my list included taking more walks, adding in more workouts, growing my reach, and turning off bad t.v. What does your list include? It likely has something about food, weight, and rest on there. Am I right? I don't want to be! But we are creatures of habit and chances are HIGH that the resolutions you set last year have a similar ring as they do this year.
Ok, this time it's me talking when I say, "I'm expecting BIG things from you in 2014". My expectations are that you will...
- Take care of your body and mind with KINDNESS
- LEARN something you don't yet understand
- STRETCH your comfort zone ... beyond your comfort zone
- BALANCE work and rest
- Jump, play, run, laugh, and take up SPACE
- DEDICATE time and patience to your REAL goals
What are your REAL goals for the next 364 days? WHY are they so important to you now? HOW will you do MORE of that this year?
I want to be there to help keep you moving in 2014 any way that I can. Just ask! In the meantime, have a Wonderful and Joyous New Year.
